Corporate travel buyers anticipate rate increases again for 2024, according to respondents to BTN’s annual hotel survey. They also expect more room nights than in 2023, a trend line that jibes with hotelier observations that business travel volume continues to build week-on-week in the second half of 2023. Buyers are looking to mitigate the cost impact of more rooms at higher rates with strategic sourcing plans that include rationalizing their partner base and deploying static rates, dynamic rates and chainwide discounts. They also told BTN which hotel brands provide the best product, service and partnerships for their programs. Business Travel News surveyed 147 qualified corporate travel buyers August-September 2023 to compile this trend report. BTN's hotel ratings survey garnered 486 responses.
