ATPCO has acquired airline IT supplier SITA's Airfare Insight fare management system and will integrate it into its newly developed Architect pricing tool.
The deal, which closed Jan. 1 and was announced by ATPCO on Tuesday, came after ATPCO and SITA together agreed that "it was the right time to optimize industry investments and consolidate systems" due to the significant challenges airlines are facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to ATPCO. Most of Airfare Insight's customers—which include Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Xiamen Air—had agreed to the deal prior to its closing, and both companies will work on getting support from the rest in the coming weeks. In the meantime, SITA plans to continue operating and supporting Airfare Insight through the rest of this year as ATPCO plans their transfer to Architect.
ATPCO launched the Architect platform, which brings together and standardizes fare data from multiple sources to help airlines shape fare decisions and strategy, in November.
