Supplier-dedicated ratings sites have existed for nearly two
decades. Some travel managers are working to incorporate supplier ratings within
their internal social media sites or company travel apps.
Pros & Cons: Travelers easily can peek at such
free websites before they book. Finding ratings on other sites like Facebook and
Yelp has become easier, and TripAdvisor launched an airline review platform in
July 2016. Monitoring such sites, though, can be time consuming.
Access/Format: Companies like RouteHappy and Olset, which Deem
acquired in October 2016, also have integrated via APIs with travel management
companies to provide such information at the time of booking, or they can
provide it directly to corporates. While glancing at sites like TripAdvisor is
free, subscriptions to RouteHappy and Olset will cost you. Fees depend on the
company size, the number of merchants a client wants to monitor, the number of
reviews and calls to an API. The data is available as a raw data dump, Excel,
text file or other format.
